Delicious, mostly-nutritious food is a big part of what The Empress Provisions is all about, but there is so much more than food that feeds us, that nourishes our body, mind, and soul. So, The Empress Provisions is about food, but also movement, connection - to ourselves, each other, whatever our Divine is; it's about wonder, beauty, and magic. In these digital pages, you'll (eventually) find recipes, Yin and other yoga-style resources, thoughts and musings, and access to some of the services I currently offer - from Reiki to Lenormand divining readings and personalized yoga instruction.

Lenormand is a style of cartomancy, or the use of a specific card deck to “divine the future”. I use quotes because of this caveat: yes, I believe we can get glimmers of what might be most likely to come to pass, especially in the nearer-future, which is where Lenormand shines. But we are, I believe, nonetheless somehow also creatures of free will; so shit changes. Divining is done, at least by me and those I have learned from, to provide counsel, the chance to explore how you might feel about an outcome one way or another, to caution or prepare, to shed light, but never to tell you how to live your own life.
I have practiced a number of styles and types of yoga over my 2 decades of practice. But Yin is the style I have become most drawn to in my own practice and in teaching. I feel like it's the antidote to our modern, busy, driven lives in so many ways. In Yin, I find not just a practice that is more readily accessible to a wider audience, but also lessons on healthy boundaries, mindfulness, self-knowledge, emotional regulation, and physical flexibility to name just a few benefits.
Reiki is a beautiful form of energy healing that can align with any religious or spiritual practice. It is the direction of universal lifegiving light/energy (known variously as qi, chi, prana, divine spark, etc.) to an individual so that their own highest self can direct (or reject) as it truly knows is needed. We all have access to this energy, but once studied and activated, those of us who have been attuned can channel in essentially more concentrated doses to provide healing support to your own intuitive healing system. It would be my honor to channel Reiki for your wellbeing.
No disrespect to vegans, but let me be clear, I am not one. I am strictly gluten free out of necessity, but I do choose to eat mostly vegetables. And it's most of what I teach and cook for other people too. Why? First and foremost because they're SO GOOD for us, then because they're SO DELICIOUS. But so many of us grew up with lackluster afterthoughts as vegetable dishes, never dreaming they could be tasty, let alone how to prepare them to be so! I believe no one way of eating is right for everyone, but we can all benefit from eating more and a greater variety of plants.
